Alicia Silverstone's new book 'The Kind Diet' is focused on helping readers to transition to a fully vegan diet " that is, one that eliminates meat, dairy and even honey " as a means to benefit their own health and the health of farm animals as well as to lessen the environmental impacts of factory farming practices. After halting sales of 8 models earlier in the week due to faulty gas pedals, the Japanese automaker announced today that it was recalling more than a million additional vehicles, including the 2009 " 2010 Pontiac Vibe. Toyota manufactured the Vibe, a clone of its Matrix hatchback, in partnership with GM until the Pontiac line was discontinued late last year. Will the harm to Toyota's reputation give a revitalized Ford a new edge in the market?
